Msu Student Taffy Flies The Zimbabwean Flag High.

Midlands State University (Msu) student Tafadzwa Matiure is currently on the race of making a name for himself but also he is raising the Zimbabwean flag high.
Tafadzwa 23, who is still a student at Msu studying Music, is a vocalist, instrumentalist and dancer. He is the lead singer of the Msu jazz group called The Footprints. As a group last year they were DreamStar’s talent search competition winners. He is also on attachment working at DreamStar.
Just recently he was on a 10 Day Tour in China representing the Zimbabwean Culture through music and traditional dancing.
Tafadzwa comes from a musical family, his dad who held a PhD in music mentored him up to the level he is at now. Other continental musicians who sing thier cultural music, motivate and give him (Tafadzwa), the real understanding and importance of our roots.
The ship really sailed, and the destination is not yet near, on the 23rd of July this year Tafadzwa will be flying to the United States of America (USA), on a mission to teach and perform Zimbabwean traditional music.
He produced a single track titled ‘SANGO’ which is an original arrangement version of the famous traditional song ‘Mugarandega’ and will be released anytime soon.
“My manager Abby Diaz who used to work with my father Dr Matiure the late, is the one who is making all this happen. And also the mentorship and support from the Midlands State University together with Jacaranda Culture and Media Cooperation has made all this possible and my career is slowly shaping up,” he said.
Tafadzwa is Afro-contemporary traditional music artist; it’s a mixture of afro jazz and traditional music.
