‘House Of Mutu‘ is a fashion house born under the goal of designing garments that will be worn by people globally. It was founded by Nkosilathi Nkomo in 2013.
The House of Mutu is based in Bulawayo, and the founder has been busy in this month of March, he has been across Bulawayo as he has been attending fashion workshops including his own local monthly fashion show called ‘Umceco’.
The ‘Umceco’ show is a production which is produced under City Designers an organisation which is founded by Nkosilathi Nkomo .
“Umceco the show is produced by my organisation which is a youth developed organisation,” he explained.
The House of Mutu founder told Insider263 Mag that this month’s show that was hosted on the 14th of March at Red Cafe in Bulawayo and it was a huge success compared to their first season.
He added that the setting of where the event was hosted, contributed to the increase of the number of their audiences.
“Our March 2nd episode was amazing and it was better than our first episode in terms of attendance. I believe its all because of the venue (The Red Cafe). It was central hence easy for our targeted audience to come through.
“Our 1st episode was a challenge because of the venue though the guests had amazing fashion stories to unpack to our audience. So I learnt that a venue is of paramount importance for our fashion shows to have many attending.
“The 1st episode had almost 50 people and the 2nd episode the number of audiences doubled. Which is a positive sign hoping the 3rd episode which will be hosted on the 11th of April, will tripple the number ,” said Nkosi.
The third episode will be hosted under an environment where Fashion Gurus will share their stories and how they managed to climb the ladder.
The Hombyo aka House Of Muntu design brand is hoping to host two of its brand’s fashion shows this year.
