Prince Adrie Still Venda’s Finest Rapper.
By Cto Banks
Midlands State University graduate Prince Moyo 25, better known as Prince Adrie from Beitbridge seems to be the only Venda rap artist who is really puting work out there.
Prince Adrie just recently released a single track titled ‘Pray’. The single was produced by another Gweru born and bred producer who is currently based in Harare, he is known as Cymplex but was born Simbarashe Moyo. He works at Solid Records.
The single ‘Pray’ features Scotch Kingz and Onle. It is an hip hop/trap mainstream track, Scotch is on the chorus, he really did a good job on it, it actually feels like an international track, especially judging from the beat and chorus. Prince Adrie then comes on the first Verse dropping some deep vernacular lines, Scotch then comes in on the second verse doing that August Alsina type of style and then Onlee comes on the last verse.
When he was asked what to expect from him he said “I’m also working various different projects. One of the most interesting of them all is a track im working on and its against woman abuse. There are a lot of issues being addressed on it and its an African Contemporary type of Hiphop track.”
Just after the release of ‘Pray’ he released another single which is a solo this time and its a Venda love song titled ‘ Ndiyavhafuna,’ and this again was produced by Cymplex at Solid Records.
Speaking honestly this track l love, l may not be hearing what he is saying literally but l can actually connect with the melody and the flows, he says it’s a song for women, asking a girl out in particular.
Prince Adrie gave a world class performance at this year’s Miss Beitbridge which was held on the 20th of April at Purple Heart Hall. He left the fans asking for more.
