Chante Mak Drops Her Single ‘Sooj’

Chante Mak is an upcoming female rapper from the streets of Harare. She was born Chanté Makumbe and she is 20 years old.

She used CYM back in school, those are her initials, and now she’s using Chanté Mak as a her stage name.

Chantè released her new single not so long ago and its titled ‘Sooj,’ which she says is juice spelled in backwards.

The track was produced by S3bastian X. And was mixed and mastered by Take Fizzo.

“When I listened to the beat I layered the first verse instantly, it’s a verse I had done a video for and uploaded on instagram (@chante_mak) a while back. The second verse came naturally, I wrote what I felt listening to the beat. The intro, hook and outro are extracts from the movie Scarface that basically narrate why I’m here.

The track is titled Sooj which is Juice said backwards. And yes, I’ve got the juice!,” said Chantè

That whats she had to say when l asked about the inspiration behind the track. Well, personally l think her single is something you can listen to, if you a chill back and meditate to the lyrics type of listener, because it is a deep song, it’s filled with lyrics, she is a true lyricist.

Her single is coming off her forthcoming Ep which doesn’t have a title yet, but she said the Ep is going to be released  next year. Though it has no title yet, it is going to be made up of 6 tracks.

Her Ep is going to consists of a lot of collaborations and features. A few videos and some performances. She’s also putting out some mixes on the DJ side of her career.

“People are loving it. It’s not the usual sound they expect from a female rapper and they like that. They love the flow. They love the bars. And a lot of my friends were already familiar with the first verse because of my instagram post. I’m getting good reviews for the track,” she added.
