Top 10 Young people to watch out for in 2019
#10 Braydan Heart is a Zimbabwean film maker and visual effects producer based in Bulawayo. He recently released a reality show called Being Braydan which focuses on his life. He has caused some waves in the city of Bulawayo and was at the ROIL BBAS where he was in charge of fashion on the red carpet along side other presenters. He is one ton definitely watch out for in 2019.
Tamy Moyo
#9 Tammy Moyo is a Zimbabwean Singer and Song writer. She has broken records and is one of the few Zimbabwean Artists to ever premier on the South African Show Coke on the Beat. She has worked with Dj Tamuka and has done shows along side big names like Gemma Griffiths and Ammara Brown. She was nominated for the best collaboration with Nutty O at the 2018 Glam Awards and Best Female at the 2019 NAMA Awards. She is one of the most prominent young singers in the country.
#8 The First Princess of Zimbabwe Nazira Omah is a model and media personality. She has a vivid social presence and continue to make waves in the modeling land scape. She was one of the entourage of PatoranKing when he came to Zimbabwe. She is also a feminist and advocated for peace during Xenophobia in South Africa. Watch her space.
Panashe Kim
#7 Panashe Kimberly Peters is a Zimbabwean model and the reigning Miss University of Zimbabwe. She is an influencer with a humble attitude. She has worked with Big Brands such as Gtel and other top influential brands. She is also a nominated model and is studying at the University of Zimbabwe. Look out for her as the year progresses.
Ishan
#6 Ishan is a Zimbabwean musician known for his song Kure. Ishan is a 21-year-old Mvurwi-born artist. Kure features T Gonzi and was produced by Jamal at No Limits. iShan real name Isheanesu Chigagura. iShan was born in Guruve and grew up in Mvurwi. The youngster who now hails from Chitungwiza aspires to work with fusion 5, Winky D and Tamy. He is definitely one to look out for this year.
Asaph
#5 Asaph is a Zimbabwean rapper reigning from Bulawayo. He is a multi-award winning rapper and headliner. He has released top albums which have caused waves in the Zim Hip Hop Circles. He is a grand stage performer and a radio personality currently at Skyz Metro fm in Bulawayo.
Ray Vines
#4 Ray Vines, (real name Melusi Chiripowako) is making a name for himself on the Zimbabwean comedy scene. He is considered a king in the Zim Comedy circles and the numbers affirm with this. With staggering views online and several endorsements he is on the rise to become one of the greats. He is currently a student at the Midlands State University. He has released a fashion line called Mukukuzvi and is also an award winner.
King 98
#3 King 98, real name Ngonidzashe Dondo, is a South African based Zimbabwean Hip Hop musician. He is most known for the release of his 2019 album Francesca under the tutelage of DJ Simmz. The launch of the album attracted big artists on the African continent including Davido and Nadia Nakai. He has several videos playing on Channel O and Trace Africa and has just released a video featuring South Africa’s Nasty C.
Garry Mapanzure
#2 Garry Mapanzure is a Zimbabwean Singer and Song Writer and an Empawa Africa Artist. He is an Award winner and a student with over a million views on Youtube for his hit song Wapunza. He is booked for several in international performances and is also a headliner on the upcoming Legacy Tour. He is also a regular on Channel O and Trace TV. He has worked with house hold names such as Hillzy who was named Adidas Street wear Ambassador in 2017. Watch out for him as the year progresses.
Prince Albert
#1 Albert Takudzwa Chigiya (aka Prince Albert) is a Zimbabwean actor, voice-over artist, entrepreneur and the founder and director of The Glam Awards. He became active in 2014 after he successfully launched the MsuGlamAwards at the Midlands State University and then implemented the program to reach beyond MSU. The show is dedicated to the recognition of all young talent in Africa from sports, music, fashion, film making comedy and others. He has a strong political side with ties with high profile people in the government and also massive showbiz influence over the landscape of Zimbabwe. Music In Africa Magazine certifies the Glam Awards voting system is the most transparent voting system in Africa. He is set to host the 5th Annual Prime Time Glam Awards in Harare this November. He is considered one of the most influential young people in Zimbabwe.
