PRINCE ALBERT IN A LAWSUIT AND NOMINATION STORM
It’s not a usual day in the office for The Chairman of The Glam Awards Zimbabwe Albert Takudzwa Chigiya aka Prince Albert as he was faced with a lawsuit from Glamour Magazine in The United States amid allegations of Copyright issues.
According to sources the Magazine alleged that Prince Albert used the name Glamour after them there by infringing copyright agreements. Lawyers representing the Glam Awards argued that the show was called The Glam Awards not Glamour Awards. After receiving a 21000 head nod from students from The Midlands State University The Glam Awards expanded to become the Biggest youth Award show in Zimbabwe which has also brought a significant amount of popularity to Prince Albert and the brand as well as a lot of Headaches. In 2018 The Glam Awards were accused of being politically inclined with the Ruling party after Prince Albert was pictured speaking to The Zanu Pf secretary for Youth Affairs Lewis Matutu at Rainbow towers in Bulawayo. Despite this the Youth Show has grown bigger fostering a platform for Zimbabwean youth to be recognised across various platforms with Music In Africa Magazine certifying The Glam Awards voting system as the most transparent voting system in the industry.
It all eyes on the Show as they make their Harare Debut on March 28 though the streets have been on fire over nomination graft which was postulated by Prince Albert’s relations with a lot of young people in the industry. The Chronicle was barred and rumours were spread that someone was paid not to write a story over the relations of Prince Albert and Glammys18 nominated model and reigning Miss UZ Panashe K Peters after a photograph of them together was leaked in various media groups.
This has raised questions in whether the model will be nominated as she is one of the favourites to win the 2020 Glam Awards Top Female model which is currently held by Vannessa From Bulawayo. The relation to Prince Albert however makes it complicated since the glam awards made rule in 2018 that no-one close to either the team members or the chairman is supposed to participate. It is very exciting times as The Glam Awards will be the last Award show for 2020. Will they serve the best for last? We await with anxiety.
